Our Story
Don Bosco is known to millions as a brilliant and a great champion of the young. He was a man of vision who was far ahead of his times. The Salesians of Don Bosco is an international society founded by St. John Bosco popularly known as Don Bosco. He was born in Italy in 1815. By hard work and preserving effort he got educated and became priest. He dedicated his whole life for the welfare of youth. His lifestyle of education was based in three principles: reason, religion and loving kindness, which later came to be known as “ Preventive System”. Don Bosco’s work is now continued through the society called “Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB)”. Don Bosco today has about 2700 institutions including 7 universities and 48 professional colleges in 131 countries around the Globe. The society through its schools, colleges, Technical schools and youth centers caters to young people who are at the fifing of the society irrespective of cult, caste, creed and religion.

NCVT AffiliationDon Bosco, Bhadravathi has obtained the recognition (NCVT) from the Central Government in 2010. Five trades, namely, Electrician, Electronics, Fitter, Welder and Turner, got recognized by the Government of India. The hard work of Fr. K.C Sebastian, Fr. Tom Uzhunnalil, and Fr. Lawrence is appreciable. Now the community is in full swing, mobilizing and getting students admitted for the various courses. There is also boarding facility for the ITI Boys.

MoRD AffiliationThe MoRD project work was activated at Don Bosco Technical School, Bhadravathi on 12th July 2010 with the active participation of the MoRD staff Members, Mr. George Serrao, Ms. Rita and Mrs. Sowmya P. The programme was initiated with a small prayer by Fr. Rayappa Lawrence, the Principal of the College. The meeting that followed was presided over by Fr. Sebastian Kudackat, the Rector. In the meeting it was decided that Br. Dominic Dinesh would be the Co-coordinator of the MoRD Staff. After the meeting the team visited the BDO office and got the necessary document and the permission to visit the Grama Panchayats to begin the mobilization programme.
